Tasting the new Westland Solum peated single malt tonight. It’s made with locally grown barley smoked with Olympic Peninsula peat. Nose: apple cobbler, a hint of cinnamon, toasted oak, and vanilla. Taste: Sage, honey, vanilla, cinnamon coffee cake, subtle smokiness. Finish: long and subtle with a gentle smokiness. Quite nice…I’m scoring it 93 points.
