Trying a dram of Clonakilty for the first time after a long day of going through my mom’s things ahead of her memorial service Friday. I’d never seen it on a shelf before the grocery store today. It’s fine; grassy nose and baked apple on the palette, but not a dram I’d reach for first among the Irish options. I’m inclined to think of this as a mixing whiskey.
