Had a student (an adult student, I teach college and older drums & percussion haha) return from Scotland with a very gernerous gift! Isle of Raasay Chinkapin. This is @MThomas and my first Raasay. Interesting…first thoughts is you’d swear there was some ex-Sherry in here somewhere. But no…lovely little chocolate and spice notes that balance the light peat perfectly. NAS but feels older than 3 years for sure. Best part, my wife is very particular when it comes to peat. This lightly peated dram is perfect for her. Chinkapin for the win!!! My student said the tour was phenomenal and plenty of up close opportunities. I’m gonna have to get there soon.
