My go to Dalmore is the 15YO or King Alexander III, so it’s been awhile (probably 5-6 years) since I have had a wee dram of the Dalmore 18. Had a few glasses in Jakarta a couple of nights back. I must say that I enjoyed my drink to such an extent that I thought it’s significantly different to my (distant) recollection of what it tasted like when I last had it. I always tell my friends I prefer the 15 to the 18 but I may have to now change my preference. The 18YO I had was very well balanced. The Sherry influence seemed to be cleaner (I recall thinking it was too strong in the old 18) and the bitter bite of the wood seemed to be well in check. Depending on how much more this costs compared to the 15YO, this may be my new go to for Dalmore. 😍 #whiskydev #whisky #dalmore #ScotchWhisky #jakarta
