The Canadian smoke in the air in Wisconsin today gave the air more of a Lagavulin than an Ardbeg phenolic character. There’s a medicinal, bitter herb aspect to it, none of the fruitiness I expect from an Ardbeg. This would be the worst Lagavulin ever as a single-barrel release, but I bet they could blend something amazing with these notes.
