A little Whiskey Wednesday fun before hitting a few stops on the bourbon trail tomorrow and Friday. I did a blind tasting of bourbons in the $25 -$50 pice range. Surprised the most expensive bottle came in last, the hardest to get (in my area) came in 2nd to last, and a local distillery finished a strong 3rd. My rankings today were as follows. 1. Maker’s Mark No. 46 2. Four Roses Single Barrel FN 71-6 A 3. West Fork Wheated 4. Buffalo Trace 5. Weller Special Reserve 6. Michter’s US*1 My palate tends to fluctuate wildly, so I plan on recreating this blind in the future to see if I get similar results.
