Only just discovered this article regarding some historical records from Aberdeen, Scotland. “In July 2019, University of Aberdeen research fellow Dr. Claire Hawes discovered the earliest known written record of a distilling apparatus in Scotland. Sourced from the UNESCO-recognised Aberdeen Burgh Registers, the June 1505 document lists an "ane stellatour for aquavite and ros wattir" (a still for aqua vitae and rose water) among the possessions of a local chaplain” https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-49032195
