Tonight’s #hockeydram is the last ounce of a sample of a 30-year-old Old Pultney that was the 24th bottle of our club’s Advent calendar this winter. It was most members’ favorite dram of the calendar, but I thought it was a fine but not outstanding 4-star dram. Interesting cabbage note on the nose and strong black pepper on the finish. If it was a stir-fry food it would be an all-time favorite for me, but as a whisky it’s good-not-great in my book. Still, a treat to get to sample it at all.
