Surrinder Kumar was the pioneering master distiller at Amrut Distilleries. After a string of successes, he moved on to be part of the founding team at Piccadilly Distilleries, producing single malts under the brand name Indri. I had their peated release tonight, Indri Agneya. Matured in a combination of ex-Sherry and ex-Bourbon cask. I must say I like this. You can taste the vanilla and some caramel from the ex-Bourbon influence and also some palm sugar, dried raisin notes from the ex-Sherry. The smoke was restrained and reminded me of Speyside peat. I liked this drink. Good length in its finish too.
