Sad news to report out of Scotland. Derek Mather, the owner and chef at the Artisan Restaurant in Wishaw (Speyside), died Sunday at the age of 51. According to the restaurant's Facebook post, Derek suddenly became unwell Sunday and was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital, where doctors were unable to revive him. Derek had built up one of the world's largest collections of whiskies at the Artisan, and appeared on WhiskyCast a couple of times over the years. Our condolences go out to Fiona and the rest of his family and friends.
