A malternative review - Darroz 1964 Bas-Armagnac Domain de Saint Aubin 7 year 47.5% Nose: floral, raisins, sourness (yogurt). Palate: raisins, sourness (yogurt covered raisins?), caramel, a bit of dark chocolate. Finish: long, syrupy, and slightly woody. I am new to Armagnac so I’m hesitant to give it a score. In fact, this is my second Armagnac bottle ever. But I really like the flavors, especially that sourness (rancio?). This bottle was 1 of 2 bottles of Armagnac I bought via an auction along with a bottle of 2017 Lag 12 yr (my favorite Lag 12 so far). I will post my thoughts on the other bottle soon; hoping the second bottle can serve as a gauge on the Darroze. Cheers!
