Just finished a bottle of Douglas Laing’s Scallywag Winter Edition 2025 (Ice Wine Cask finishing). Absolutely loved it and so did all my friends. It’s light (and rather uninteresting) on the nose but on the taste…. Mmmmm… delightful. The sweetness from the ice wine cask gives this expression a classy and delicate sweetness. Like a clean floral honey drink. Perhaps some sweet notes akin to a good red apple. Hardly any burn on the swallow despite its 52.4% ABV. Decent finish with a little chocolate and cinnamon notes lingering. Rushed out to get a case for future consumption after this first bottle. 🤣 I’d say it’s excellent value for money too. #whiskydev #scotch #scallywag #scallywagwinteredition2025 #douglaslaing
