Tonight I am tasting the Batch Strength version from Torabhaig Sound of Sleat. Can’t wait! Torabhaig Sound of Sleat Batch Strength 120.4 Proof (80-ish) Nose: The aroma is sweet with honey, graham cracker, barley sugar and a slight floral note, much less smoke than the lower proof counterpart on the nose. There is more fruit, but smoke is more medicinal than soot. Taste: The crescendo of all the fruits and barley and smoke is amazing. There is fresh apple, cooked peaches and pears, very sweet honey and cereal. The alcohol hit actually comes and goes moderately quickly, but the finish is lovely with brine and sweet and smoke. The smoke is more iodine than the standard release, but along with the fruit notes, it makes this a significantly better dram. A few drops of water makes the fruit notes explode and takes away the medicinal part of the smoke to reveal a nice campfire char. Two ounces with a few drops is how I will enjoy this bottle for sure. My grade: A Cheers!
