Adventures of a whiskey enthusiast in a local “towny” bar. After my wings and fries, I thought I would treat myself to a Four Roses Small Batch with my Bud. It tasted so good, I asked for another. However, at this precise time, the regular bartender had to leave for a quick break (overheard the convo, sounds like she had some personal business). Regardless, I was left to the mercy of the bar back, who innocently poured my second dose with the Four Roses Single Barrel bottle, which was right next to the Small Batch bottle. The tab at the end of the night revealed his mistake: two pours of Small Batch. I may never know if the Single Barrel costs more, but I have full faith that the young bar back will eventually know the difference between the Small Batch and the Single Barrel. Here’s to him. Cheers!
