It’s been a bit since I cracked this one open, but the weather tonight is calling for it. This is a 2014 bottling of the McCarthy’s 3 year old. Pretty good stuff. I know things have shifted a little with the distillery. Makes me interested in trying their newer, higher age statement bottlings. Anyone try the 6, 6 PX or 6 Oloroso? This would never pass for Scotch but doesn’t have to. Despite the mashbill. I’m guessing it was aged in new oak. It tastes that way. Surprisingly delicate…and maybe it’s lost a little zip being open for a while. I like it though. Nice change of pace.
