Hey guys, yesterday I hosted a small tasting in Lüneburg (a beautiful small city in Lower Saxony I used to live in) with with title “find the Scotch”. I did let the 11 participants guess if they had a Scotch or a world whisky (it was 6 but the last two where from Scotland so only the first 4 got rated). I always love to do blind tastings and stuff like this cause it shows a little but how whisky I actually received when stripped of it’s storytelling. 1. Starward Leftfield, got rated 6 Scotch 5 World Whisky - it was bought once 2. Tomintoul Port Cask was easy identified as a Scotch with 10 to 1 (although since it was the second after the world whisky maybe that influenced) 3. Cotswolds Sigature 3 Scotch 8 World Whisky - also quite clearly identified as world Whisky but very well received. Bought twice. 4. High Coast Hav - 6 Scotch 5 World Whisky also very well received and bought twice. 5. GlenAllachie 15 well received but not bought. 6. Ledaig Rioja Cask reception was okay but nobody bought a bottle. I love these small and personal Whisky Tastings.
