I’m cracking open my other Torabhaig bottle. This one is the cask strength version of what was their Chapter 2 release. Aged mostly in 1st fill Bourbon, this one is bottled without any water. Let’s sip! Torabhaig Allt Gleann Batch Strength 122.2 Proof (75-ish) Nose: with my mouth open - grassy peat smoke, brine, mint. With my mouth closed - oak, vanilla, phenolic smoke, lemon. Taste: The punch is strong, but after a quick alcohol swell, it’s a wonderful ride. Peaches and tangerines, sweet barley, and a biscuit with lemon peel into the finish. Now don’t get me wrong - it’s a load of smoke from beginning to end. It’s just fun to find what tags along with the smoke. A few drops of water brings out more tropical fruits but separates the sweet and the smoke. This is for drinkers who want peat and heat. My Grade: A- Cheers!
