I’ve been thinking, it would be interesting to discuss how COVID contributed to the current state of the whisky industry. During the early stages of COVID a number of the members of the club I’m in were reaching out more to fellow aficionados, consuming more and buying more. The impact of this is still playing out and it would be interesting to compare notes. My initial sense is that it contributed to a temporary spike is sales in the early days and post COVID it exasperated the decline as people consumed the inventory they had accumulated. At least that’s my experience. I’d love to hear others experience.
