Friends…some personal news, I beg your indulgence. In January, Mark and I agreed to adopt our dog Bader’s sister. She was being trained as a service dog but the family decided to move out of country. While we weren’t looking for another dog, we decided that good dogs are like whisky…can you really have too many? It is rare for Mark and I to be out of town at the same time, but in February that was the case. Mark went to the Hotaling event, and I went to pick up the puppy. On Feb 13, Mark returned home. He went to pick up Bader from a friend, and Bader in his usual exuberance, ran out to greet Mark and was hit and killed. We are heartbroken. A few on you have met Bader when you have stopped by for a dram, and most of you have heard a few barks when he has commented on the podcast. We often joked that he was the intern, and wanted you all to know what happened, but we needed a few weeks. The puppy is named Islay — because, of course — and we’re sure you will all be hearing from her occasionally, too.
