***NEWS UPDATE*** $289 MILLION IN NEW DISTILLERY PROJECTS FOR KENTUCKY Look for Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear to tout the state's success in attracting new whiskey investments when he runs for re-election. The state landed approximately $289 million in new distillery projects in just one day Thursday when Pernod Ricard and Willett Distillery unveiled new projects. Pernod Ricard will build a new $196 million distillery and warehousing complex in Lebanon for Jefferson's Bourbon. Construction is expected to begin next month and be completed by July of 2024, according to a news release from the Governor's office. The project will create 55 new full and part-time jobs, and has the potential to grow to a $250 million investment over the next 10 years. Family-owned Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, the owners of Willett Distillery, are planning to build a new $93 million distillery and warehousing complex in Springfield, Kentucky. The Kulsveen family is still drafting plans for the project and declined to comment beyond the news release issued by Beshear's office. The new distillery will complement the existing Willett Distillery in Bardstown.
