@Mark maybe you can help me understand something… A friend suggested Cedar Ridge American Single Malt. Interesting. Want to try it. But they also call it “Vatted Malt” on the label. In Scotch terms, Vatted is a blend of different malts from different distilleries, correct? I understand distilleries will vat different in-house spirit to marry it, but it is still single malt. So which is it? This review site tries to explain it, https://www.whiskeyinmyweddingring.com/reviews/cedar-ridge-the-quintessential-signature-blend-american-single-malt The Cedar Ridge site makes it sound like their just vatting different cask finishes. https://cedarridgedistillery.com/whiskeys/the-quintessential/ It makes me think they are misusing what is the customary lexicon, on the label at least … maybe I have it wrong. Appreciate it!
