When Ardbeg released their Committee bottles in the past you had to queue up to get one before they were gone. I am now finding the Committee releases on the shelves instead of behind the counter where they used to be kept. And it isn’t just Ardbeg but most of those “special release” bottles from other distilleries as well. Just wondering if the quality of the releases is the issue, the number of releases or the whisky market is done with the overpriced bottles? I am still disappointed that this year’s Spectacular did not get the normal cask strength release. (Ardbeg totally misread the “too many special releases” feedback from customers. We wanted the normal releases just not multitudes of additional ones) Just curious what you all are thinking. I included a couple of pictures from just one store but I have found the same at many.
