Two topics tonight for The Blend: The quick one first, we made a few Old Fashioned’s using the Winter Warming Syrup from SmittenKitchen. I recommend! Second, It is interesting being a bourbon enthusiast in Austria. It just is not as popular here and the prices are completely different. This bottle of Buffalo Trace cost me €21, Wild Turkey 101 is in the same price range and the Rare Breed is €29. The Rebel Yell series cost about the same as on the U.S. Other bourbons that are not as common such as Willett’s Rye and Heaven’s Door are about 30% more. My best find was coming across a shelf full of the first two expressions of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof for €100. Anyone else have examples of significant pricing differences?
