The UK have had a recent report issued, on the current state of the rivers. Reading the reactions that have been made, following the report, it seems in my opinion that this has been more shocking than people realised. The waterways in the study covering, all four nations with English and Northern Irish rivers’, being found to have the worst levels of concern, it must in some part have an impact or be considered by the distillers of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Considering that even sections of the river Spey have had poor findings, I felt I had to reach out to the SWA, to find out if they have a position on the report and any possible implications, that may be seen in the future for the Scottish whisky industry.
