Advice wanted! I’m hosting a tasting of rum barrel finished single malts next month. 1) What rum would you recommend as an added bottle to help frame the Scotch tasting? Jamaican funk, grassy agricole, something else? And 2) Does anyone know what rum distillers are supplying the growing rum-barrel-finish market in Scotland? Is this wood staying within brand portfolios? Are these mainly former bourbon barrels used for rum, then sold on to Scotland?
